Yay! So exciting to watch this! My son's best friend was on the panel (we convinced him to apply last year!) My son is envious of the college experience that his friend is having at UATX and wishes he were a couple years younger so that this would have been an option for him.

The 60 Minutes segment was very well done. Hopefully, this widely watched program made many aware of UATX and its uniqueness.

Congratulations to all who have a hand in this approach to education. Watching is from a Canadian perspective, very welcoming, a "breath of fresh air " to the the academic sphere. Looking forward to seeing it grow. Best wishes to all students. Merit, excellence and intelligence. Thank you 60Min for Introducing this "model"to a wider audience.

P.S. and know I’m NOT talking about DEI. I do support your criteria of the the best and the brightest, i.e.intelligence !

But.... I find it hard to believe that there are not minorities other than the single Asian I see on your website that would qualify under your criteria.

Explanation, please.

I was so thrilled to catch last night's episode of 60 Minutes. I don't generally watch the program but as I clicked off a recorded program, there was Niall Ferguson so I stopped to watch. And what to my wondering eye did occur but UATX! How fabulous to get this coverage!

The initial intro to the piece as well as the later questioning clearly leaned toward skepticism, but the positivity and articulation of the students and faculty shine through. Well done.

One of the reasons I chose to attend St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA many many years ago was because of its four semster requirement to study and discuss the classics! It’s great to see what UofAustin is doing!! I’d love to observe a class sometime… maybe you’d be up for taping a session so we could all enjoy it?

The piece was great!!! I've been writing about this phenom, DEI, at the University of Alabama for years. See The Push Back (https://www.amazon.com/Push-Back-Lawrence-Clayton/dp/1639857494 ) for one little book. It sounds like I was recommending what you all have been doing!
